What is my budget?
This is a question that many people ask. Realistically, the best way to know your budget is to start with Riverbirch’s Design Build Process. Our team will complete a Customer Preference Interview on our initial visit to your property.
The next step is to discuss the feasibility of your project. Once it is determined your project is feasible we present a Design Contract. This is the best most cost-effective way to give a realistic budget.
Is a room addition or second story within my zoning code?
This step is something that doesn’t take a lot of time and there is no cost. Visit or call your local zoning and permit department for your county our town. Find out the zoning ordinances, codes, setbacks, etc. for the new structure.
How do I find a reputable, knowledgeable, experienced contractor?
This is a question that can be very difficult to answer. Many good contractors provide an amazing service and take pride in the work they do. Be sure to check each Contractors’ Licensing. Not all contractors are created equal. (Note: In the State of NC, any project under $30,000 does NOT require a state-certified licensed contractor to perform work.)
Verify the Contractor you hire has suitable General Liability, and Workers Comp Insurance coverage. A deep understanding of your needs and expectations should be very clearly identified.
